“Vanadu”, an art car inspired by the poetically described palace of Kubla Khan as well as by the mansion in the movie “Citizen Kane”, is usually nestled in proximity to it’s home port of “As-sem-blage Co-ttage” (pronounced in the French manner in order to rhyme), also known as “Contempo-by-the-Lake”. The entire entity, resembling a sculpture garden and villa-ette gone mad, seeks to imbue flipped-on-its-head art history with the energy and risk of so-called “outsider” art, an exercise that permeates the inside and outside, the stationary and locomotive, as well as the individual works of art that adorn the site. Visitors are welcome - I'm home a lot these days. Further works can be seen in the link to the adjoining "store" - and yes, they are also for sale.
